This one time opportunity WILL open your eyes…If you are there!

You know I really hate it when Internet Marketers (IMer’s) say they are being generous and that they are giving you a gift and then you wind up having to pay for it. This is what I call “The Trojan Horse” method and it is definitely not a gift.

I just recently saw this done by an Internet Marketer which will remain nameless. This is what really peeves me off. He sent an email out that stated “I’m feeling very generous this holiday season…”

According to dictionary.com generous means being liberal in giving or sharing; unselfish; a generous gift and a gift is something given voluntarily without payment in return. It is also something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient.

What I am trying to get at is that it’s OK to make an offer but don’t present it as a gift. That’s just an appalling thing to do to the masses. You may have a great offer, but don’t make it into a Trojan horse. In my opinion this is very unethical even though, many internet marketers use this technique.

Giving something FREE can endear you to your list. If you want to have an offer on the same page as the gift, then that’s fine, but don’t disguise the offer in itself as a gift. That kind of makes you a Scrooge around this time of year. This is the reason why most people distrust IMer’s. The best Internet Marketers don’t have to resort to these underhanded tactics.

In conclusion, let’s raise the bar a little bit. Internet Marketing is an honorable profession. It’s the unethical marketers that make the rest of us look corrupt. Frankly, I am tired of people in the offline world calling Internet Marketing a scam. So why don’t we make a commitment to be honest in our marketing. If you have a quality product, great. Market that product to the best of your ability.  And if you want to give away something for FREE then give it away for FREE, no strings attached.

P.S. – Remember, in your drive to make a living and improve the quality of life for your family, take the time to spend it with those who are most important to you, especially during the Holiday Season. After all they are the reason why you are striving to be successful in this business.

What is the deal with “A” List Internet marketers who have forgotten where they came from?

I just saw another video by Tellman Knudson called the Rebel Resistance, where he supposedly had a friend who was in desperate straits and had to come up with 10 thousand dollars in 3 days or he would lose everything.

With Tellman’s help, they apparently accomplished it. Great! I congratulate them for the accomplishment. Its quite a feat. But….

Now he is offering a course showing how he did it, and marketing it to people in desperate straits. He talks about how he has made a promise that he would never turn away someone who needed help. Then he offers the course for 500 bucks that will supposedly help them. I clicked off the page and got hit with a down-sell offer to break it down into 3 payments of $167.

Lets look at this logically for a second. If you are in a desperate situation, $500 bucks is a lot of money, almost enough to pay rent for a month. And $167 isnt much less. That’s enough to keep groceries in your pantry for a couple of weeks.

Give me a break. Tellman has either forgotten where he came from or else he is a hypocrite, which is according to dictionary.com; is a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. And according to his actions, ie charging 500 bucks or 3 payments of $167 for a product that is aimed at newbies in the guise of “helping desperate people.” Either way what he is doing is contemptible.

I have no problem with him making money from his hard work, and knowledge. But quit putting the help on the upper shelf where people who need it, can’t get to it. TELLMAN, If you really want to help people, then HELP THEM! Quit FLEECING THE NEWBIES.

P.S. If you really are desperate, try selling something on EBAY, that is one of the easiest ways I know to make a few extra dollars when you really need it. Just auction off some excess junk, de-clutter your life a bit and earn some extra cash.

I just found out that one of my articles has been accepted to EZinearticles.com and I’ve been granted expert author status. To me this is a huge accomplishment! I’ve tried several times in the past to submit articles, but have had some trouble getting them approved. But I have kept persevering.

So what’s the big deal with Ezine Articles? It is the most credible article directory out there. The approval process is lengthy, and the rules very strict. Its also one of the most trafficked websites on the internet. Its worth the effort. From an SEO perspective, the link value is enormous.

Heres a couple of hints how to get an article accepted

1 Read their rules and submission guidelines found here http://ezinearticles.com/editorial-guidelines.html

2 Don’t try to make it a commercial. If its too salesy, it wont be accepted

3 Try to put yourself in the mind of your audience, what problems do they need solved?

4 do include a link to your website in the author box, and be sure the site is relevant.

5 Try to write every day and submit only your best stuff to Ezine Articles

I just opened my email and got another email from another internet marketing guru telling his rags to riches story and how they started with a beat-up computer and 50 bucks and then dropping a huge price tag for some course that will supposedly make you a lot of money.   I’m not questioning the fact that the knowledge that he is offering is valuable, or even worth what he selling it for. But

it really ticks me off when people try to make money on the newbies. I’ve been in the internet marketing game for a while, and I’ve made some money. I don’t begrudge anyone their success. But it is just not right to hit someone new to Internet Marketing with a price tag that most people cannot afford, especially in a down economy.

If you really want to help someone who is new to internet marketing then put the knowledge on the lower shelf.  Stop fleecing the newbies. Most of them have no clue what internet marketing is and how it works.

If you want to help someone, then help them. Offer your product at a price that they can afford. Or offer a payment plan.

It’s time the gurus develop some integrity.  I’m not saying that all IM’ers are like this, just a few primma donas who have forgotten where they started.
